The Technology Center at Beit Issie Shapiro is very proud and excited to share our new updated blog!
Among the upgrades and updates, our biggest news is that our blog is now available in Arabic!! From today, all the news about what’s going on in our center, our recommendations for assistive technology, our reviews, new products… everything will be available in three languages, Hebrew, English and Arabic! We are very excited about this addition!
We’ll continue to be a source (in three languages!!) for assistive technology news, providing information and creative ideas from the field for use in a variety of contexts. We recommend that you take a peek at past posts. Many continue to be relevant today, even three and half years later (has it been that long??). You can search for past posts by keyword or by category, found on the right side of the page. We are sure you will find useful and interesting information!

We have also updated our recommended app lists. Over the years, we listened, to you, are readers, heard your recommendations and we have added all of them to our updated lists. From today you will be able to find apps recommended for all three platforms, iOS, Android, and Windows. You can access the list from the ”Apps” tab in the menu that runs along the top of the page, or from the big yellow “Apps” button that will appear on every page. We also rearranged our categories and added some new ones, including “Story and Album Creation”, “Games for Eye Gaze Systems”, and more… One of our personal favorites is “Photo and Video Fun” – we are sure you will find some great ideas there for engaging your students with technology. As always, we would love to hear your recommendations of apps we haven’t covered.

You will also get a peek at the different companies and initiatives that we have partnered with to promote the use of assistive technologies in our communities. The Technology Center at Beit Issie Shapiro specializes in the use of assistive technology for people with disabilities, and provides consultation services and training to professionals, educational and therapeutic institutions, and to families. The center also provides guidance and consultation to start-ups and developers working in assistive technology.
